Matthew Perry, the 54-year old star of the hit television comedy “Friends,” has passed away. Law enforcement sources claim that Perry was found unconscious in his Los Angeles home’s hot tub and could not be resuscitated.
The role that made Perry most famous on the show was that of Chandler Bing, which he played for ten seasons between 1994 and 2004.
Matthew Perry has battled alcohol and opioid addiction for years, spending several visits to recovery centers.
In “Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing,” his biography, Perry talked of going through detox sixty five times and spent nine million dollars to get clean.
Due to his drug use, Perry had health issues in 2018 including a burst colon that needed seven-hour operation and the use of colostomy bag for several months.
Perry stated in the preface, “I should be dead,” and dedicated the book to “all of the sufferers out there.”
Perry relocated to Los Angeles before making appearances in films like “Fools Rush In” and “The Whole Nine Yards.”
Matthew Perry was born in Massachusetts to parents who were both Canadian and American citizens.
