A specialized center has been put into operation by the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) to make it easier for Point of Sale (PoS) operators to register in bulk.
The center was established to support requests from fintech industry operators who voluntarily submitted their agents and merchants for regularization with the CAC.
It is housed in the Commission’s office in Zone 5, Abuja. In compliance with regulatory requirements and guidelines from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), the commission gave PoS operators a two-month window within which to register their agents and merchants.
The center has all the necessary staff and cutting-edge equipment to handle applications around-the-clock.
The Companies and Allied Matters, CAMA 2020, Section 863(1), and the CBN guidelines for Agent Banking, 2013 are the two laws that CAC seeks to ensure are followed.
