Despite criticism surrounding their invitation, well-known Fuji singer Alabi Pasuma and infamous street-hop artist Portable performed at a Celestial church in Lagos.
The two singers invitation had previously sparked debate on social media when the Lagos based church announced them as guests for their worship night.
Olatosho Oshoffa, the pastor of the Celestial Church, also denounced the development and declared that he had prevented the singers from singing on the praise night.
The church’s senior pastor, Aderemi Dabiri, responded to the criticism by saying that he invited the secular musicians to win souls for Christ.
Nevertheless, in the midst of the criticism, a video of the two performers at praise night on Friday went viral.
Pasuma was dressed casually in a shirt and trousers, while Portable wore white to comply with the church’s dress code.
He was seen performing his hit song, “Zazuu” with the congregation joining in with enthusiasm, creating a joyful celebration in the church.
