In connection with the death of Nigerian musician, Ilerioluwa Aloba also known as Mohbad, the Lagos State Police Command
has detained music promoter Balogun Olamilekan Eletu, also known by his stage name as Sam Larry.
Benjamin Hundeyin, a public relations representative for the Lagos State Police Command, announced this on his X page
(formerly Twitter).
“Sam Larry aka Balogun Olamilekan Eletu, is now under our control. He is helping with the investigation right now.” he wrote.
Sam Larry reportedly landed in Nigeria from Nairobi, Kenya at around 10 p.m Nigerian time, and was promptly detained.
Some officers from the command headquarters picked him up at the Murtala Muhammad international airport.
Azeez Fashola, also known as Naira Marley, and Sam Larry were invited by the police fews prior to their arrest.
Mohbad was formerly connected to Naira Marley’s musical label Marlian Music, but he left in October 2022.
Public outcry about Mohbad’s death has led to many Nigerians accusing Naira Marley and Sam Larry of being responsible.
In addition, there were a number of recordings showing the late singer being attacked by someone apparently working Marley’s record label.
