Antony Santos, the Manchester United attacker has returned to squad training as Police investigations into claims of violence
against women continues and will be ready for selection, the club announced on Friday.
On September 10, Manchester United granted Antony Santos, who vehemently refutes the allegations, a leave of absence.
He arrived back in England earlier this week, and on Thursday, he went to a voluntary interview with Greater Manchester
Police.
Antony Santos will resume training with the intention of joining Erik ten Hag’s team, but he will not play in Saturday’s
Premier League match against Crystal Palace according to Manchester United.
The Brazil international has cooperated with police inquiries in both his home land Brazil and the UK since allegations were
first made in June, and he still does so, according to Manchester United.
While police investiagtions are ongoing, Manchester United has made the decision for Antony to resume training at
Carrington and be ready for selection.
The club denounces acts of abuse and violence and recognises their effect on survivors.
After speaking to Brazilian media earlier this month, Gabriela Cavallin, Antony’s ex-girlfriend, accused him of physical assault.
And two more women has also accused Antony of the same allegations but he has refuted them all.
Antony moved from Ajax to Manchester United for a fee of $101 million.
He is yet to justify his aquisition price.
