The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, has given personnel assurances that the Army will put
soldiers’ well-being top priority while he is in-charge.
The chief of the Army vowed to make sure the men had comfortable quarters.
Additionally, he pledged that continuous measures were being made to enhance the nationwide service
delivery of Army Hospitals.
This would allow the hospitals to handle “battle casualties,” Lagbaja continued.
The Chief of Army Staff stated as much in a statement released on Saturday by Brig. Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu,
Director of Army Public Relations, at the passing out of 6,000 recruits from the 85 Regular Recruit Intake.
A portion of it said, “He reiterated that the Nigerian Army would keep placing the training and well-being of
its soldiers at the top of its priority list, adding that efforts are currently being made to build new housing
facilities in addition to renovating the ones that are in terrible condition.”
“As rewards for their sacrifices, he added that soldiers should receive the best accommodations the Military can
offer when they are not serving in combat.”
“He further asserted that the Nigerian Army is upgrading its medical facilities under his direction so that
they are better equipped to handle all combat casualties resulting from operational engagements.
