A Nigerian Airforce Helicopter has crashed in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital on Friday being today December 1, 2023 at around 7:40am.
The development was verified by Nigerian Airforce spokesman Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet on Friday.
He said that after taking off for an operation against economic saboteurs in Rivers State, the Nigerian Airforce Helicopter bearing the NAF MI 35P crashely at precisely 7:45am.
Thankfully, all five members of the crew escaped the crash with only minor injuries, and they are currently receiving care at the NAF Medical Centre, Port Harcourt.
The statement said in part, “Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, Chief of Air Staff, is currently en route Port Harcourt to assess the situation for himself, look out for the crew’s well-being, and give further directives.”
