Nigerian superstar rapper, Chibuzor Nelson Azubuike, popularly known as Phyno, has said that when he was a struggling
musician, people told him that if he wanted instant recognition in his music career, he should engage in rituals.
Phyno made this clear whenadvising up-coming artists on shortcuts to success and recognition.
Phyno stated that he never believed in short-cuts since he believed in hardwork, perseverance, and resilience were the
essential that might make successful in his chosen career.
The Nigerian rapper counseled upcoming artist to temper their desire to instant success and to be cautious before signing
with just any record label out desperation without carefully reading and taking into account the contract’s stipulations.
Some assume we have made it easy today, but that is far from the truth, Phyno said.
“I never liked simple things, before I became well-known, I had songs that no one had ever heard of.” he said.
“A couple of friends told me to blow, insisting that I join a cult or make sacrifice of some sort, but I told that the cost was too high.
I’d never do such a thing. I started off modestly but I had faith in the strength of hard labour and I give God praise today.
