After spending time in intensive care, pop icon Madonna has reportedly been released from the hospital and is now recovering at home.
The 64-year-old pop icon was admitted to an intensive care unit after contracting a “serious bacterial infection,” according to a statement from her manager Guy Oseary on Wednesday. She had to postpone her 84-date “Celebrations” tour that was scheduled to begin on July 15 but is anticipated to make a full recovery, he said.
She had to postpone a seven-month world tour that was set to start in the upcoming weeks.
“She’s in the clear,” the source told CNN after confirming that the was transported to her New York residence in a private ambulance.
Final preparations were being made for Madonna’s extensive world tour.
In two weeks, the Celebration tour was scheduled to kick off in Canada and travel to 45 cities around the globe.
Her 12th tour, which would have marked 40 years in the music business, was scheduled to take place.
Oseary stated that “At this time we need to pause all commitments, including the tour,” but it has not yet been revealed whether the tour will still go on.

The initial cause of Madonna’s bacterial infection is unknown, but doctors say it developed into a very serious condition that required treatment in an intensive care unit.
