Man United and Chelsea reach an agreement on Mason Mount

According to sources cited by samsunblog, Manchester United and Chelsea have reached an agreement to sign Mason Mount.

United will pay an initial £55 million ($69.4 million) plus an additional $5 million ($6.3 million).

According to sources, Mount’s performance at Old Trafford and the bonuses owed to Chelsea are “strongly dependent” on appearances.

Sources also said that Mount’s medical with United will take place the following week because he is currently on vacation.

The two clubs have come to an agreement after Chelsea’s initial £70 million asking price for the England international. Chelsea turned down United’s offers of £40 million, £50 million, and £55 million.

Mount, 24, was about to begin the last year of his deal at Stamford Bridge, and talks over a new contract had broken down. He could have left as a free agent the following summer if he had stayed at Chelsea.

He will be the first new hire of the summer for manager Erik ten Hag.

For his childhood club, Mount made 195 appearances before leaving for Chelsea. He was a member of Thomas Tuchel’s 2021 Champions League-winning squad.

Following a medical, Mount, who has already agreed to personal terms with United, will join Ten Hag’s team for the preseason tour of the United States, which gets underway in New York on July 20.

On July 12, when Leeds United travel to Oslo for a friendly match, he might make his United debut.
