The federal government of Nigeria has filed criminal charges charges against Binance.
The lawsuit, under suit number FHC/ABJ/CR/115/2024, charges Binance platform with four counts of tax evasion.
Binance top executives, Tigran Gambaryan and Nadeem Anjarwalla, were named as second and third defendants in the allegation, which were brought before the Federal High Court in Abuja.
The accusations include failing to file tax returns, failing to pay company income tax and value added tax (VAT), and helping users of its website avoid paying taxes.
Binance is also charged by Nigeria government with breaking tax laws and not registering with Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) for tax purposes.
