The business that just combined the WWE and UFC, TKO Group Holdings, is adding Dwayne The Rock Johnson to its board of directors.

Additionally, the business will collaborate with Netflix, which will host “WWE Raw” exclusively starting in 2019.

With immediate effect, Johnson, a former WWE wrestler, will become a board member and obtain full ownership of his stage name “The Rock.”

As part of his new contract, the business will provide Dwayne The Rock Johnson $30 million in stock awards that vest over 2024 and 2025 as compensation for promoting the brand.

Dwayne The Rock Johnson’s other professional endeavours, which ZOA Energy drink, his production company Seven Bucks Production, and managing the United Football League merger, have seen him cultivate revenue and get media rights.

His goal is to suport TKO, WWE and UFC in their global expansion as the world’s preeminent sports and entertainment companies.

Brad Keywell, the co-founder of Groupon, was appointed to the TKO board, bringing the total number to 13.

According Vince McMahon, executive chairman of the TKO board, “very few people on the planet understand the convergence of sports, entertainment, media, and business like Rock.”

In order to create TKO, a newly public company, World Wrestling Entertainment and Endeavour Group, the parent company of rival UFC, combined last year.

Dwayne The Rock Johnson has more than 10 years of representation from the Endeavour-owned WME talent agency.

“WWE Raw,” which will go live on Netflix in January 2025, has been exclusively licensed by Netflix.
